A LEGENDARY DEDICATION
Our founder, George Hawkins, started The Ensemble Theatre as a modest and constantly mobile enterprise — driving around the vast city of Houston in a station wagon filled with costumes and stage props to present performances at schools, churches and community centers.
The Ensemble is now one of the nation's largest African-American theatres, owning and operating its own facility. Such a great accomplishment is accompanied by great responsibilities.
THE CIRCLE IS FORMED
If you're a patron of the fine arts, you know excellent entertainment relies on exceptional financial supporters. The Ensemble Theatre Founder's Circle is calling on exceptional patrons like you. Composed of a group of diverse investors, donors and stewards, The Founder's Circle is committed to ensuring The Ensemble Theatre continues as Houston's premier center for African-American artistic expression enriching, enlightening and entertaining our diverse community.
CONTINUING THE LEGACY
The Founder's Circle welcomes new members who share our commitment to ensure:
| • |
The Ensemble can sustain the financial resources necessary to support artistic excellence and to fulfill its artistic endeavors. |
| • |
The Ensemble can enhance its educational and youth-oriented programs to encourage children to express themselves and develop their creative potential. |
| • |
The Ensemble can continue as a platform for emerging actors, playwrights and future visionaries. |
| • |
The Ensemble can continue for many generations as a beacon of cultural understanding and great entertainment. |
